Pre Covid we liaised with the Lurgan Heritage Society (in Northern Ireland) as part of a cross border initiative funded by Peace IV EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation 2014-2020, to bring communities together. We organised 2 separate visits by them to Bailieborough. This entailed tours of Lough Crew and the monastic ruins in Fore Co. Westmeath and then another time a visit to the old Church of Ireland graveyard and also to Moybologue burial ground outside the town.

Our society had a return visit to Lurgan to visit Brownstown house and museum, this was very interesting as the house was used as a base for the U.S forces during World War two. The magnificent house has been restored to its former glory and is now used as the headquarters for the Orange Order.
